The Detroit Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff’s Office SHIELD Programs will host the Fifth Annual Global SHIELD Network Conference at Hollywood Casino at Greektown on September 28 - 29, 2023. The international conference focuses on strengthening public-private partnerships resulting in safer and more secure communities around the world. The conference connects all stakeholders in one location with the common goal of strengthening public-private partnerships and information sharing. The success of this conference relies on support from our private sector partners, non-profit foundations, non-governmental organizations, and others who realize the critical need for public-private partnerships that allow for the prevention and mitigation of terrorist attacks and other major acts of criminal misconduct.

Currently, the Global SHIELD Network includes 46 member agencies. The Detroit Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff’s Office SHIELD Programs consists of members from various organizations. Members of the SHIELD Network include law enforcement – local, county, state and federal agencies, fire departments, EMS, medical and emergency management personnel, corporate and private security companies, residents, community members, faith-based organizations, businesses, corporations, media personnel, security staff from large venues, head start programs, community organizations, senior facilities, grade schools, and colleges/universities.
